A Journey of Love — From Taiwan to the Vatican

In 2017, I had the honor of joining the Tzu Chi delegation to the Vatican. With gratitude and humility, I presented the “Great Love Art Plaque,” a symbol of compassion and hope, to the Holy See, Caritas Internationalis, and the Embassy of Taiwan to the Holy See. Although I did not have the chance to personally meet Pope Francis that day, a seed of love had quietly been planted.

Just three months later, 500 “Love” gifts traveled across the ocean from Taiwan to Italy, joining relief supplies and being distributed to four earthquake-affected cities around Rome. Each gift carried heartfelt blessings, offering warmth and comfort to communities recovering from loss and hardship.

In 2018, through the dedicated efforts of Tzu Chi volunteers in Europe, the Great Love Art Plaque finally reached Pope Francis by hand. This moment completed a meaningful journey of goodwill that transcended borders, cultures, and faiths.

This experience reaffirmed a profound truth:

Love needs no translation.
Love can cross all boundaries.
Where there is sincerity, there is light.

From Taiwan to the world,
may every gesture of kindness inspire hope,
and may love continue to spread — one heart at a time.
